10 KM 2nd Link Bridge Run

First of all,let me start by thanking my ain,for actually making the effort to wake up eventhough she had a long day yesterday just to wish me good luck and give me some huggies. And thanks to najib, for his motorbike and his oakley. The run was a blast!

Woke up at 5,got ready and got raring to go.Interesting enough,i didnt feel as nervous as compared to when i went to the New Balance Real Run Challange a few months ago.I guess i get more and more used to it when i participate more of such events.Got on Najib's bike, and luckily for me,i brought along and wore a windbreaker,as the cool (or cold!) winds at the PIE was chilling! We got lost but found our way in the end, with the help of some very friendly cisco officers.

Compared to the real run, this was a much smaller event, but still and fun and nerve-wrecking nonetheless. As the horns blared at 0800 hours sharp,i said a quick prayer and was on my way.The run was smooth-sailing,but the up slope at the bridge was killing alot of people,as alot of people practically quit there.I soldiered on,and when i was at the last 5 km,i knew i could finish it before 50 min.

My feet were in so much pain, especially when i sprinted at the last 200 meters, but i kept envisioning myself completing the race, and as soon as i crossed the finishing line,i heaved a sigh of relief. But sadly though,i missed out on the top 50,and that was kind of disappointing, but its ok,i'll be back next year,i promise.I didnt even got to see my time,so the agonising wait for the certificate with timing starts today.

Syukur alhamdullilah i got to meet ain, eventhough for a very short while.I thank god He let us meet, because if i made the decision to walk to tuas interchange or took the shuttle bus to jurong east interchange,i wouldnt be able to meet her ;)

Went home,took a bathe,ate,reflected on my run,and snored for 3 hours blissfully.

Now,Standard Chartered Marathon,here i come!
