P.O.C,4h:43m:8s

The last week concluded two major events in my life, ain's graduation from HTA on Friday and me participating in the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon on Sunday.

Friday was my ain's POC,and it was to much fanfare that she is now a fully fledged officer. And during that ceremony we are reminded the responsibility an officer shoulders during his/her term protecting the country against internal threats. We all know the job is dangerous, which makes this job all the more noble. Who knows, she might be back at the auditorium in 2 years's time to see me graduate. A simple but succint ceremony, ain made me and her parents proud to be there. (The auditorium was big, even bigger than SOTSC's auditorium! Hahaha)

There was the customary VIP speech and award ceremony. There was also the police pledge taking and national anthem. Finally the day was topped off with some finger food being served.Ain bade goodbye together with me and her parents and left the place after taking pictures of what seems to be her home for the past 6 months. I accompanied her to a photo taking session with her number 1 uniform and we were done for the day.

Marathon time! I wasnt as nervous as last year, and with some experience under my belt, i managed to keep calm the night before the storm and get some sleep. I woke up at 3,warmed up a little, get dressed and took a cab. I managed to reach the Padang at 430 and baggage was a breeze. I found and sat at a spot infront of the esplanade and warmed up until 10 mins before the flag off.Months and months of training culminated to that day.I said my prayers and off i went.

The first few kilometers were dogged by pain on my right shin but it went away after 5 km. I ran a good solid race until the 27th km mark, when i stopped due to a niggling pain on my right ankle. The rest of the journey was dogged with pain and severe cramps. I persevered on, thinking positive thoughts and i managed to clock a decent time of 4 hr 43 mins. But im suffering now though, my thighs, calves, shoulders and quads are killing me. My aim now is to go for the biathlon next march and complete it by 1 hr 30 mins.

Congrats dearest, you make me proud. The Police Force is lucky to have you as their asset..Lots of love..

Good luck to my friends for next weeks mid sem..

God Speed..
